Preschool-G In this colorful and lively volume in the Estaciones Crayola series (Crayola Seasons, 4 titles), young readers are invited to explore the different colors winter can bring and to try to mimic these natural works of art with their own crayons. Each section introduces children to the colors of winter, winter animals, and winter activities with a series of brief paragraphs and matching photos and illustrations. White snow covers the ground and is accompanied by blue, purple, and gray skies; snow-covered trees; shining icicles; and red cardinals. Winter activities such as snowman and gingerbread-house building are also shown. Children are invited to create their own pictures of icicles and snowmen and to identify differences between colors used and seen. Art-inclined elementary-schoolers learning to read Spanish will appreciate the suggested activities.
