The third book in a laugh-out-loud early graphic novel series perfect for fans of Narwhal and Jelly! Quiet-loving Moose's life is turned upside down by free-wheeling Duck. The two will need to put their differences aside if they're ever going to be neighbors...or friends!
It's time for a best-friends-slash-roommates sleepover! Duck is prepared for everything: he's got snacks, his karaoke machine, and a stack of movies for Moose and him to watch. But is Duck ready for how early it gets dark now that it's winter in Denali? Moose sheds some light on the situation and shows Duck that sometimes things aren't as scary as you imagined.
Filled with zany hijinks and slapstick humor, Kirk Reedstrom's Duck and Moose series showcases unlikely friendships and the power of compromise.

Grades 1-3 Duck and Moose are two best friends who enjoy a good sleepover. During tonight's special occasion, the two plan on binging all five of their favorite movies in the Mutant Mountain: The Musical series while eating all the snacks they can. However, once it gets dark, Moose is ready for bed before the movie marathon has even begun. Duck is not ready for bed and postpones sleep by reading, writing, dancing, building snow ducks, and filling an ice castle with bright lights. Unfortunately, all this keeps Moose up and he begins to suspect that maybe Duck does not want to go to sleep because he is afraid of the dark. Reedstrom's open panels and simplified characters help the large speech balloons stand out against the backgrounds, and the central conflict between the friends plays out in a silly yet earnest way, as Moose helps Duck face his fears. This cute, funny, and relateable early reader comic, the third in Reedstrom's Duck and Moose series, is a strong choice for Narwhal and Jelly fans.COPYRIGHT(2024) Booklist, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

PreS-Gr 2-The third outing in this popular series deals with a fear many children have: the dark. During the winter, it gets dark earlier, and Moose wants to postpone their fun to get a good night's sleep. Duck's constant interruptions lead to a discussion about being afraid of the dark, which is handled with the typical humor of the series. These beloved animal friends continue to guide young children through essential life skills by playing on the bonds of friendship and humor. VERDICT Duck and Moose's newest title helps overcome fear with humor and wonder.
